Permission Letter

Dear Sir,

I am a current A2 media student and part of my course involves creating a Film campaign that will contribute to part of my A-level.

Supporting us with this is Film’s Cool, an organisation that through mentoring will help us to plan and develop our own movie ideas in order to shoot, edit and produce, by implementing recurring conventions of existing trailers.  As part of the brief we are using Ivor Novello song lyrics as inspiration to base our film ideas on.

I have been looking into award winning Ivor Novello song lyrics and am asking for permission to use the song ‘Mad World’ by Gary Jules (2003) within our trailer.  As stated this is for non-profit purposes and has been chosen because of the narrative opportunity the song represents. By incorporating this song, it would contribute to the success of our production; this is eminent because our final piece will be screened at a high profile institution in central London.

Yours truly,

Alomgir Miah et al.

We wrote a letter to ask permission to use the song Mad World within our trailer. We got a response back telling us that we COULD use the song! This gives us an advantage to make our trailer look professional and gives a great tone to the trailer.
